Emergency Care

One of the main goals of HCA hospitals throughout west and central Florida is to reduce the time patients wait to see an qualified medical professional. We have accomplished this by initiating processes and best demonstrated practices to ensure patients are cared for efficiently and effectively. In fact, we have been so successful that most of our hospitals now post wait times on their websites!

Clinical excellence is another area that our ED teams are always focused on. Today 14 hospitals have earned Chest Pain Center accreditation and all 15 are either Joint Commission Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Centers or state designated stroke centers. Broselow System for Acute Pediatric Administration of Drugs in the ER

The hospital’s emergency department has installed the Broselow System to ensure the proper dosing and administration of drugs to children. Pediatric dosing can be difficult, especially in emergency situations, and the Broselow System allows medical professionals to instantly access proper dosing, improve the speed and accuracy in acute preparation and administration of drugs, reduce medical errors and standardizes pediatric dosing so that we can provide our young patients with high quality emergency care, safely.
