Tampa, Florida – HCA West Florida, Tampa Bay's largest health care system, has announced that 13 of its hospitals are included among The Joint Commission's (TJC) new list of Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®. All HCA West Florida Hospitals reporting core performance data in 2013 received the recognition, while only 36.9 percent of all TJC-accredited hospitals nationally did.
Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Brandon Regional Hospital, Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, Edward White Hospital in St. Petersburg, Englewood Community Hospital, Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Largo Medical Center, Medical Center of Trinity, Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center and St. Petersburg General Hospital were recognized. Four of the facilities have been named Top Performers all four years of the program's existence.

"We are pleased that all of our reporting hospitals last year have been listed among the top U.S. hospitals, based on objective scientific measures that correlate to the best outcomes for patients."
TJC's Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures related to evidence-based care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children's asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke, venous thromboembolism, immunization and perinatal care.
