Under the leadership of our Chief Medical
Officer (CMO) Dr. Larry Feinman, HCA West
Florida is committed to a robust quality and
patient safety agenda. Through collaboration
with hospital CMOs and medical staff
leadership, we are reducing clinical variation,
expanding our graduate medical education
commitment and improving patient care, with
significant progress this past year in sepsis
reduction and blood utilization.
Individual hospitals are also working on
local initiatives to improve performance and
enhance patient care.
INDUSTRY LEADING PERFORMANCE
We continue to perform well on public clinical
measures, including CMS Core Measures.
HCA West Florida hospitals completed third
quarter 2013 with a Core Measures composite
inpatient score of 99.49%, above the 90th
percentile nationally.
Additionally, 14 of our hospitals earned
national recognition as
